Lord of the Rings still a must-see

April 5, 2002

We are truly in a nerd paradise, folks. No other time has ever held so many opportunities for people to ignore hygiene and indulge in our favorites: Superheroes, science fiction and most of all, “Lord of the Rings.”

This weekend, why not indulge that “Rings” fascination one more time? And you even have two options.

You could either go to the theater and see it again, complete with the new long preview of next December’s installment, “The Two Towers,” or you can see it again for next to nothing right at Wells Hall on campus.

While sitting in a Wells Hall seat for nearly three hours doesn’t exactly sound pleasant, be like an old person at a football game - bring a cushion. No one will laugh at you, especially since most of the people there will already be talking about whether or not a dragon could beat a gargoyle in that “Magic: The Gathering” card game.

If you haven’t seen it yet, shame on you. If you have seen it, then you know what I’m talking about. It’s stupendous, amazing, hella cool. Go see it over and over again. I command you. You must obey me.

“Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring” is showing at Wells Hall on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 8 pm each day. Admission is free for dorm residents with a valid ID and $2 for everyone else. Check local listings for showtimes in theaters. I’m not gonna do all the work for you.
