The mens tennis team upset No. 57 Iowa 4-3 Saturday at the Indoor Tennis Facility.
The Spartans (14-9 overall, 2-6 Big Ten) won the doubles point to start the match after juniors Adam Hourani and Jimmy McGuire took the No. 1 doubles match and sophomore Chris Mitchell and freshman Andrew Formanczyk took the No. 3 doubles.
Mitchell and McGuire took the No. 2 and No. 3 singles matches, respectively, giving MSU a 3-2 advantage. And sophomore Eric Simonton scored the Spartans winning point with his No. 5 singles win.
MSU will end its regular-season schedule on the road next weekend against Purdue and Indiana.
