• The School of Music is hosting the MSU Chorale, Choral Union and Brass Ensemble at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Plymouth Congregational Church, 2001 E. Grand River Ave. in Lansing. • The School of Music is hosting Fall Opera at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Music Building. Auditorium. The MSU Opera Theatre and Philharmonic Orchestra will present Leonard Bernstein’s “Trouble in Tahiti” and “Bernstein on Broadway” with acts from “West Side Story,” “New York, New York,” “Peter Pan” and more. • The Students for Peace and Justice will hold a meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday in 341 Baker Hall. Students who oppose a war with Iraq should attend, and those who attended the teach-in and protest should come to learn more about what they can do. • The Jewish Student Union presents Carlebach Shabbat at 6 p.m. Friday at the Lester J. • Spartan Bigs will hold its weekly meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Ohio State Room of the Union. Spartan Bigs, affiliated with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lansing, plans activities for kids waiting to be matched with a Big Brother or Sister. It is not required that members be volunteers for Big Brothers Big Sisters. Spartan Bigs provides many volunteer opportunities with minimal time commitment. • Green Spiral will hold its monthly meeting to plan for spring semester events and meetings at 7:30 p.m. today in the Ohio State Room of the Union. Green Spiral is MSU’s eclectic pagan network, which offers fellowship, support and events of interest to pagans in the MSU and Lansing area. • The MSU Aikido Club holds training from 6:45-8:15 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and from 2-3:30 p.m. Sundays in the IM Sports-West Judo Room.
