MSU's track and field team will send three members, as well as a former member, to the 2004 U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials Friday through July 18 in Sacramento, Calif.
Jamie Krzyminski, Sherita Williams and Steve Manz, who were seniors last track and field season, will each compete in their respective specialties, while former Spartan Paul Terek will compete in the decathlon.
Two of the Spartans will compete on opening day, Friday. Manz will participate in the men's shot put and Williams will compete in the women's triple jump.
Krzyminski will not compete until 9:20 p.m. on July 16, in the women's 10,000-meter finals. The All-American is one of 21 that has already qualified for the field.
Terek, a former All-American, will attempt to secure one of the three spots on the U.S. Olympic team in the decathlon. The contest will run from July 16-17. Terek is currently ranked fourth in the field.
Live coverage of the Olympic trials will be shown on USA network for the days when Williams, Manz and Krzyminski will be competing, while NBC will cover the finals on July 17-18, which will contain the decathlon.
