Chris Heinz, 30, is appearing at MSU with actresses Kirsten Dunst and Allison Munn. Dunst has starred in blockbuster movies including the "Spider-Man," series and "Bring It On." Munn has a role in the WB's "What I Like About You," and had a recurring role in "That '70s Show."
The trio will appear at 10:30 a.m. in the Centennial Room of Kellogg Center. The event is free and open to the public. The group will go to the University of Michigan following the event.
"It'll be great and a chance to reach some more voters," said Stephen Purchase, MSU College Democrats spokesman. "If we reach more students and sway them, or at least push them to the polls, we've accomplished something."
Purchase said he expects the event to be informal and motivational.
Also in the area on Friday, Vice President Dick Cheney will be at the Summit Sportsplex, 9410 Davis Highway in Dimondale, for a 1:10 p.m. rally.
The free tickets can be obtained at the East Lansing Victory Center, 315 W. Grand River Ave.
Spokespeople from the Michigan Republican Party said they did not know what the vice president would address in his speech and representatives from the Bush/Cheney '04 campaign office could not be reached for comment.
The vice president was in Michigan last week for events in Clio and Traverse City.
"Everyone hears that this is the most important election of our lifetime," said Mike Flis, recruitment chairman for MSU Students for Bush. "It's important to understand every candidates' position before you make any decision of who you are going to vote for.
"That involves seeing both parties."
Flis said he expects the vice president to reiterate President Bush's policies and beliefs during his speech.
"He needs to say the president is more qualified than John Kerry and speak about the experiences we've been through and what we're going to do in the next four years," he said. "I'm pretty confident that he can inform a lot of voters and help them see that George Bush is the best man for the job."
Also in Michigan, vice presidential candidate John Edwards will be at a rally at LC Walker Arena in Muskegon on Friday. Doors open at noon and the event starts at about 12:30 p.m.
In addition to Friday's visitors, Michigan hosted Kerry on Monday, Elizabeth Edwards - the wife of John Edwards - on Tuesday and Bush on Wednesday and today.
"Usually by now, one side or another would have said, 'We can't win this state,'" said Jim Agee, co-director of the Michigan Political Leadership Program, which teaches new politicians how to be effective. "It appears that things are a little more fluid than in the past.
"Both sides are saying 'We believe Michigan is in play.'"
