The MSU men's swimming and diving team was defeated by No. 4 Michigan Friday night in Ann Arbor, 152-83. Seniors Rudy Wagenaar and Ian Clutten earned individual titles for the Spartans.
Wagenaar finished first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 51.39 seconds, and Clutten won the 100-yard breastroke with a time of 56.05.
Sophomores Adam Schmitt and Matt McNichols teamed up with seniors David Habel and Matt Wisniewski to earn first place in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:06.15.
Both the men's and women's teams return to action Dec. 2 at the Ohio State Invitational.
