The MSU field hockey program has announced a new addition to its coaching staff. Ashley Egland has been hired as an assistant coach and she will be working primarily with the goal-keeping unit.
Before being hired by MSU, Egland was an assistant coach at St. Lawrence University while she worked toward earning her master's degree in education administration.
Egland specialized in goalie training. She was a goaltender at the University of Massachusetts when she was an undergraduate student.
Other members of the field hockey coaching staff are first-year head coach Rolf van de Kerkhof and first-year assistant coach Helen Knull.
