Andrew Christlieb, an assistant professor of mathematics, has been awarded $300,000 during a three-year period by The Young Investigator Research Program.
The program, which is supported by the U.S. Air Force Office of Science and Research, is aimed at identifying scientists whose research could cause significant advances in their profession in the coming years.
This is the program's first year and Christlieb is one of 21 selected to receive this grant out of the 144 who applied for the proposal. Christlieb will study a range of topics, including plasma physics that is most popularly seen in flat screen video monitors.
