The Associated Press recently named MSU junior basketball guard Drew Neitzel as Honorable Mention All-America.
Scoring 20 or more points in 17 games during the season, Neitzel averaged a team-best 18.1 points per game good for fourth-highest in the Big Ten. During the 2005-06 season, his average was 8.3 points per game, making his increase the third-largest by a starter in MSU history.
Neitzel also was selected as the Big Ten's Most Valuable Player by www.collegeinsider.com and named to the All-Improved Team on www.collegehoops.net.
Along with Neitzel, the All-Improved Team includes Oregon's Aaron Brooks, Texas A&M's Acie Law, Temple's Dionte Christmas and Providence's Herbert Hill.
Receiving an honorable mention selection to the www.collegehoops.net All-Freshman Team was freshman forward Raymar Morgan.
