Cable and apartment ties similar to 'dictatorship'
I am glad that some government agency has finally stepped in to stop the property owner and cable company dictatorship that has plagued us for so long. Year after year I have searched for the best cable deal only to discover that my landlord already has a contract with the cable companies, and my roommates and I are unable to qualify for a cheaper monthly payment.
At one point my roommate and I were paying up to an additional $50 per month because of the cable company’s contract with DTN Management Co. The only difference between the two packages was that HBO was included in the DTN package. Let’s just say that I don’t think HBO costs $50 extra per month.
I also would love someone from DTN or Comcast to explain how not being charged an extra $50 per month is “a blow to customers,” and don’t even get me started on their Big Ten Network problems. Thank you, Craig Trudell, for bringing up this issue in the news.
