An unidentified female body was recovered from Grand River near South Washington Avenue and Interstate 496 in Lansing on Thursday morning.
Police responded to a call at about 8 a.m. regarding the body.

Lansing police Lt. Bruce Ferguson said there is no information available regarding the woman’s identity.
He expects an autopsy to be performed “within the next day or so.” Authorities were unable to determine how long the body had been in the river.
“There’s a lot of factors that come into play when the weather has been cool,” Ferguson said.
