E.L. high school student injured in accident

A 15-year-old East Lansing High School student was struck by a vehicle at 7:15 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Harrison Road and Tarleton Avenue.

The victim sustained serious injuries in the accident and was in critical condition at Sparrow Hospital Saturday afternoon, East Lansing police Lt. Joe Hinz said.

According to a press release, the vehicle was traveling northbound on Harrison Road toward Tarleton Avenue when it hit the victim, who witnesses said was running across Harrison Road.

The unnamed driver said he or she did not see the victim at the time of the accident. The driver was not injured.
