The MSU wrestling team fell to No. 11 Northwestern by the score of 25-15 Sunday at Jenison Field House.

Four individual Spartans came out victorious: Freshman John Fulger at 157 pounds, junior Rex Kendle at 165 pounds, sophomore Nick Palmieri at 184 pounds and No. 4 sophomore Franklin Gomez in the 133-pound weight class.

Senior Joe Williams, No. 15 at 197 pounds, lost to No. 2 Mike Tamillow by the score of 4-0.

“I think our job at this point is to try to stay positive and keep making progress,” said head coach Tom Minkel. “It’s tough, we just can’t get everybody hitting on the cylinders at the same time, but our goal is to not cave in and give up, but keep making progress.”

The Spartans, 3-11-0 overall and 0-6-0 in the Big Ten, wrestle next Feb. 15 at Penn State.
