Windchill advisory in effect today

February 10, 2008

A windchill advisory is in effect for the Lansing area until noon today.

This morning, the windchill was predicted to be near minus 24 degrees. According to the National Weather Service of Grand Rapids, wind gusts could reach about 30 miles per hour today.

A windchill advisory means cold air and strong winds will combine to produce low windchills.

The frigid weather isn’t expected to break until Wednesday, when temperatures will gradually begin to increase.

High temperatures are predicted to be in the low 30s by the end of the week.
