Beverly Baten, a former member of the East Lansing City Council, will be honored Wednesday for her contributions to the city.
The ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. at the Hannah Community Center, 819 Abbot Road.
Baten, who graduated from MSU in 1966, served on the council from 1999 to 2007.
Because Baten lived in East Lansing during the five decades since graduating from MSU, she brought a sense of history to the council, said Ted Staton, East Lansing’s city manager.
