Hello, my name is Allison Pluda

If MSU Photography Club president Allison Pluda, an environmental geosciences and environmental biology junior ever starts a business, it will be named Seneca Creek Photography, after the Maryland site near her childhood home.

“For nature photographers, it might be a little harder because (people want photographers for) weddings and portraits and pictures of people,” she said. “I’m a person who tries to omit people from my photos.”

Pluda restarted the Photography Club this school year. The club is planning various springtime photo walks and a trip to Detroit to photograph abandoned buildings and to visit galleries.

Pluda hopes to develop the club into a networking opportunity for photographers.

Pluda said she tends to carry her Canon Rebel XT everywhere.

“All of my favorite pictures have come from Grand Teton National Park (in Wyoming),” she said. “I went for 10 days to Yellowstone (National Park) and the Tetons and I took about 5,000 pictures.”
