E.L. coffee shop to reopen as new cafe

Cornerstone Coffee, 515 W. Grand River Ave., will reopen as Grand River Coffee Cafe as early as Friday.

Ellen Sawvel, who owned the franchise when it opened in August, will run the new coffee shop with her husband, Steve.

Sawvel said that they will leave much of the menu the same as Cornerstone’s menu.

“We don’t want to improve on what’s already good, but improve on stuff that needs to be improved,” she said. “We want to mix things up a bit, but the lattes are still the same.”
