Police Brief 04/11/08

Student hit in head by unknown object

An 18-year-old male student was injured by an unknown object that hit him in the head at about 6 p.m. Tuesday, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The student was walking at the intersection of Bogue Street and Grand River Avenue when the object struck him above the right eyebrow, McGlothian-Taylor said. A marble recovered from the scene might have been shot at the victim with a slingshot from a passing car, McGlothian-Taylor said. The victim was treated by fire officials responding to the scene and received medical attention at Lansing’s Sparrow Hospital, McGlothian-Taylor said. There are no suspects and the case is still under investigation.

Typical MSU. Is there any doubt that this is somehow related to cedar fest? The entire student body needs to be help accountable, and the administration needs to make sure it happens. These are the issues facing our state. I fear for our children.

It was a dangerous, immature, stupid prank by some people. We have no freaking idea who did this nor have any chance at ever figuring it out. How you are you going to pin this on MSU students??

Please People! Remember that not everyone in East Lansing is a student at MSU. Let the Police do their job and maybe someone will be held accountable for this ignorance. Don’t stereotype the Students as all trouble makers.

It could have been a local 5 year old boy for all we know. Honestly I’ve been coming to MSU campus since I was 6 months old and never, ever have I seen someone with a sling shot. I think a college student would know better than to sling shot marbels anyway. P.S. With today’s media and the violence that’s occuring amoung young childern. I fear what your children are and what they’ll become for the nations sake.

My roommate, girlfriend, and a friend were all hit as well (on Grand River, at different days and times). I was there when my girlfriend was hit and it sounded like a paintball gun.

“figures” should be held accountable for her ignorance. This is not a cedarfest issue.
