MSU President Lou Anna K. Simon testified Wednesday before the state House Higher Education Appropriations Subcommittee to push for funding increases for public universities.
Simon was joined by University of Michigan President Mary Sue Coleman and Wayne State University President Irvin Reid, the three schools that comprise the University Research Corridor.
As they did in February, the presidents argued that the impact of research would help boost the economy.
The state Legislature has yet to approve a budget for the 2009 school year.
