Stilt-walking man promotes cerebral palsy awareness across state

May 12, 2008

A man left Lansing this morning with this head held high — more than eight feet off the ground.

Neil Sauter continued his stilt walk across Michigan this morning, with the goal of covering the nearly 22 miles from Lansing to Portland by Monday night.

Sauter appeared at the Lansing Lugnuts game Friday night, then spent the weekend catching up on some missed miles and spending time with his fiancée.

Going into the second week of the trip, Sauter is still seeking donations to United Cerebral Palsy of Michigan and local homes to stay in overnight during his walk.
