Professor emeritus recommended for interim dean position

Professor emeritus Elvin Lashbrooke has been recommended to the MSU Board of Trustees for the position of interim dean of the Eli Broad College of Business and Eli Broad Graduate School of Management at MSU, effective July 1.

Lashbrooke was a professor of finance and law from 1984-2004, serving as the associate dean of the Broad school from 1993-97.

He also served as the dean of the college of business at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas from 1997-99, before returning to MSU as associate dean until 2001.

“I know the college, I know the university, I’m enthusiastic and I think it’s a great place,” Lashbrooke said. “I’m looking forward to it, I think it will be an exciting year.”

The search for a permanent dean will continue in the fall.
