Women’s rowing ties best finish

June 1, 2008

When the MSU women’s rowing team finished sixth in the 2007 NCAA Tournament, they were overjoyed.

But on Sunday, when the team finished with the same results in the 2008 NCAA Tournament, in Rancho Cordova, Calif., a different feeling overtook the team.

“This year, we came in with the expectations of winning the whole thing,” head coach Matt Weise said. “Last year, we were happy with sixth and this year we had such high expectations that we seem disappointed with the same result.”
