MSU football head coach Mark Dantonio will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before Wednesday’s Detroit Tigers’ baseball game at Comerica Park, according to MSU Sports Information.
The game against the Cleveland Indians is scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m., while the first-pitch ceremony is slated for 6:59 p.m.
Dantonio is entering his second season as MSU’s head coach. Last season, he led the Spartans to a 7-6 record and their first bowl game in four years.
He became the first coach in MSU history to begin his first season 4-0, as the Spartans defeated UAB, Bowling Green, Pittsburgh and Notre Dame to open the 2007 season.
MSU will open the 2008 season on Aug. 30 with a prime-time game at California.
