East Lansing’s alternative art space, (SCENE) Metrospace is accepting proposals for an upcoming exhibit, now through Sept. 19. The exhibit will display the works of individuals and groups of artists from Oct. 24-Dec. 14. It will emphasize the collaborative process of creating art, which has been enabled by the growth of mass communication and cross-cultural exchanges over the last 50 years.
Artists may propose works in an assortment of media and styles and all submitted works will be reviewed.
Along with an image of their work, artists must include a résumé or biography, artistic statement for the proposed work and $25 per proposal. Checks should be made payable to the city of East Lansing, with (SCENE) Metrospace in the memo line.
A disk containing electronic images of art proposals may be mailed to Communications Department, 410 Abbot Road, East Lansing, MI 48823, or be e-mailed to scenemetrospace@gmail.com.
