Former MSU guard Drew Neitzel has signed a one-year contract to play with the Artland Dragons of the German Professional Basketball League, according to Eurobasket.com
Neitzel played for the Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA’s Summer League earlier this month, but decided to sign with Artland on Wednesday.
Neitzel’s former college teammate, center Drew Naymick, is also headed overseas. On July 20, he signed a one-year contract to play with SKK Kotwica Kolobrzeg of the Polish Basketball League.

I don’t think I’m alone when I ask the question, “How much money is he making?”. People want to know these things.

Neitzel signs with a European team, gets a “tax-free” contract, paid in Euro’s, gets to play professional basketball for a living, and he’s a “loser?” Check the mirror Hilarious.

Too funny, you actually think the euro is a stable currency. The whole world financial system is under collapse, not just the dollar. That child will learn to grow up very quickly in the coming years.
so you're saying...

…that no athlete should ever play anywhere because of the world’s “collapsing financial system”
I guess he should be like you and nag people on internet message boards all day, huh?

Good for both of them. Awesome for Naymick. I would rather go explore Europe and Play Bball then sit in Des Moines or Flint and play developmental ball. Kudos to both of them for following dreams. And they will make way more money per year than any of us!

Children, there won’t be any money for the people of the world with which to purchase the tickets to see these children dribble play toys!

Many European teams pay a salary as well as all your living expenses, including house and car (with drivers), so nice job Drews!

Bad job Drew, instead of pursuing finance like you told people, you bailed out. Professional sports is fantasy land, it’s not real. It has no bearing on your real life. It doesn’t eliminate the erosion of our manufacturing base, it doesn’t rehabilitate convicts, it doesn’t inform the electorate that their money is being stolen. It distracts and amuses the human mind while the body withers away into dust.

So how many of you folks out there who can recite sports statistics from 1923 are even aware that the Euro’s rise has destroyed the export capacity of France and Germany? France is bankrupt this very moment, and you damned fools continue on with your fantasy sports leagues. You have destroyed our culture. You are one of many elements who have waged war on the mind of man, and you are winning at peril of civilization.

Dude, he’s making money in a currency that’s not the dollar. He’ll be able to wine and dine with European women instead of Midwestern trash (MSU girls being one of the few exceptions). He gets to play a game that he loves and gets paid for it.
What? Do you want him to be some minor cog in a financial corporation? A has been basketball player who puts on a suit and tie to make somebody else rich? Please, the boy’s living his dream. Let him live it.

I’m pretty sure he never said his dream was to “eliminate the erosion of our manufacturing base, rehabilitate convicts, and inform the electorate that their money is being stolen”. Also, how does anyone wage war on the mind of man? Why don’t you go hug some trees, smoke your joints, and leave this kid alone for doing what he is best at (playing basketball). By the way…an AMERICAN making good money to invest in the AMERICAN economy is a bad thing?
