Well, the person proceeding this obviously is a Republican and believes in dissing. My woes go to you, due to the fact you can make such comments and it’s George Bush and the Republican Congress which broke America’s back in EVERY way!

Cut military budget a bit and that would pay for Obama’s Plan of Action with Energy, no tax change needed. So Go Obama! I believe there is hope and change on the horizon!

Rise above the fear induced propaganda of the Republican’s and listen to our leader!

“Ambitious, hodgepodge”?

You took your headline from predictable, back-of-the-story comments made by 2 politicians? That’s the best you can do?

If one had called it “stupid” and the other had called it an “idea,” would you then combine those comments into a headline and think that you had done a good job as a journalist?

You didn’t think that something like “Obama reveals national energy plan in Lansing” would have made a more honest and accurate headline?

Obama’s plan is all blah. He provides no real solutions to any of the problems that we are facing today. Anyone who has been to the gas station knows that it is taking a huge monetary toll on basically everyone. Just throwing tons of money into R&D is not going to solve this problem. All of us would like to break our addiction to oil, mostly to stop sending so much of our money to the Middle East. But him saying that we will no longer need foreign oil in ten years, without drilling more here at home, is crazy. He is out of touch with what real citizens and business is dealing with. Oil is not the enemy!

“it’s George Bush and the Republican Congress which broke America’s back in EVERY way!”

So when Nancy Pelosi shuts down congress early (our tax dollars hard at work) and won’t even debate offshore drilling or begin a bipartisan energy plan before recess how is this George Bush’s fault? Obviously she does not care what is in the best interest of this country. There is no way that offshore drilling is the big picture answer, but SOMETHING needs to be done, and now is the time to act. If congress keeps up their partisan bullshit 8-10 years from now we will really be in trouble.

RB,

All we need is a change. When I spoke of Bush I speak of war, tax cuts for the wealthy which exceeded those to the other classes, increase in size of government, letting 9/11 go down, seeing the mortgage crap go down, etc. The Republican congress was as evil as Bush. The Democrats are frozen and have things they stand by, which is understandable to say the least. The Republican’s are to blame, in my eyes. This does not apply to all Republicans, but many/most.

We’re screwed and Obama digging into National Reserves is an item of action, in case you didn’t read it…that is. Regardless of all this oil/gas crap is breaking my back, too. However, there is a plus side to it to make forward progress in the transportation system of America.

We must take advantage of the problems that Bush and the Republicans have caused us. And really the political machinery of the history of America is broken, gears need to be replaced, new lubrication is needed, as well as the input so that we can produce a better output. It parallels to the American auto industry in many ways.

Youth Revolution is the only way, let’s take our country back!

Stephen, I agree whole heartedly. We have developed into royalty of the days gone by, it’s sad. When the power is gotten, it’s never released. These people get so out of touch that they don’t genuinley care. This is a reason why I like Barack, he’s still new and wet behind the ears!

SoCal,
First, the tax cuts Bush put in saved this country from a serious long term economic slowdown. Second, the lower and middle class had a larger percentage decrease in tax rate than the upper class. The top 1% in this country pay 65% of the income taxes so just because the actual value is larger for upper class doesn’t translate to a tax cut only for the wealthy. Also, to say Bush, “let 9/11 go down” is absolutely crazy. He had been in office for less than a year. Radical Islam has been at war with this country for decades and to say Bush let that happen is terrible. Clinton’s the one who had chances to kill Bin Laden but wouldn’t pull the trigger. And talking about increasing the size of government; that’s all democrats want to do! Tax more and increase governments role in our lives. Finally, to say pulling some oil from the strategic reserves will solve anything is wrong. It may give a small amount of help now, but it still isn’t solving any real problems. Oil prices will just go up again. The reason for the reserve is in case of a traumatic event that stops the flow of oil from other countries. We need real solutions, not temporary fixes!

spary10,
The tax cuts were a temporary fix to a long term problem. Typically speaking it’s a bad idea to provide a tax cut AND go to war at the same time. With which you spread tons of lies and fool the American people into believing your bs. That is unless you’re a doubter. So is it better to temporarily fix the economy and help increase national debt to the highest points it will ever achieve. Possibly one trillion dollars, for the sake of that I’m going to right that in non-scientific terms.

%1,000,000,000,000 spelled out thousand=three zeros, million=six zeros, billion= nine zeros and trillion= twelve zeros.

So now the debt and economic functionality quick and DIRTY fix causes this to happen. My oh my, what a tax cut. Look at this article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economists%27_statement_opposing_the_Bush_tax_cuts
and see what peeps that understand economics possibly unlike yourself and George Bush have to say about that sugar coating bs that he passed off.

The 9/11 ordeal. It was used as a form of master manipulation to convince people to go to Iraq, plus watch the Fahrenheit 9/11 movie and you’ll see some truths revealed. I’m not saying that movie is 100% fact or 100% opinion free, but still catches you up on some unknowns. Plus I’ve heard information from people about that day, who were in NYC, and some of the shady elements proceeding. So see that as crazy as you’d like, but be blindly faithful to the most corrupt uncaring president we’ve had in some time. That makes you ignorant, but ignorance is bliss. Especially if you’re crazy!

I am unaware as to where it is the democratic agenda to tax more and increase the government’s role in our lives. Especially with regards to this democrat. I think he’s a little bit different. Use of national reserve to offset supply issues which are bs in and of themselves, friggin oil companies, is a quick fix to try to resolve issues. Also, if you investigate the reserves, we’ve got so much there, for so long, that we’re finding degradation of it. Would you leave the same case of water on your deck forever and never tap it? Part of the issue is simply keeping it fresh.

America needs to stop buying into propaganda, I mean news bull crap. As well, what some candidates say is absolute bs…no matter how much you love them. George Bush better go on for a trial in war crimes and treason and have his execution televised. I do absolutely appreciate the fact he made me care again about politics, that is all. Otherwise all he’s done is crush our security, crumble our economy, kill our fellow American’s on the battle fields and soil, lie about lots of stuff, throw away a LOT of tax money, and put my home country that I’m proud to be a member of into a worse recession then that of Black Tuesday in the twenties.

SoCal,
The one issue that I have had with Bush is that he hasn’t cut spending like he needed to. I’m far from “blindly faithful”. I can think for myself. But with that being said, I’m positive I don’t need an economics lesson and guarantee I’ve had more economics classes than you have. I know this because you say we’re in a recession, which proves you really don’t even know what a recession is and are just repeating bs you hear from the left wing. A recession is 2 or more consecutive quarters of negative GDP growth. In case you didn’t hear, last quarter we had growth of 1.2%. And Fahrenheit 9/11 is just another Michael Moore film of him pushing his agenda. Anyone can make a movie and pull one piece of information from here and there and completely change how things appear. My uncle was there and saw the second plane hit. How can anyone honestly believe Bush had anything to do with it? Just to go to war? We already had enough info on Iraq to go to war. Not to mention one of the those 4 planes was intended to hit the White House. You have to be kidding me.

Secondly, look at Obama’s tax plan and tell me that he doesn’t want to increase taxes. There was an article in the WSJ last week that laid out his plan. Even socialist Europe has begun to understand that higher taxes DON’T work. It slows growth and if you want a recession that’s the way to do it. It’s no secret that if Obama gets elected, the markets will fall right away because higher taxes hurt business. His tax plan will hurt small business the most, where 80% of new jobs are created. check it out. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB121728762442091427.html

Lastly, you better watch your mouth when you talk about having our president executed. I don’t care what you believe, but that is so far over the line. You really should be ashamed. If you want to live in a socialist, isolationist country than move to Europe. This country was formed on individual freedom and capitalism, not socialism. No one wants war. But Bush is the commander and chief and his job is to protect this country and keep us from being attacked again. This country is so much safer now than it was 8 years ago. Here’s another article about Iraq and why we went to war. read and enjoy. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB121504452359324921.html

I lose control with the issues, no we’re not in a recession…but we’re getting there. At least the weakening of the dollar combined with the high oil prices make produces in America more possible, and efficient with costs.

George Bush is an evil man or simply a puppet for people on similar terms to Hitler. There’s such a spirit of hate for Muslim’s around the world, and the 9/11 is a perfect catalyst for that. I had a friend tell me that right before 9/11 there was areas of NYC sectioned off that you could not go into, and this was for a meeting between Israel and the US. Strangeness it all comes to be!

I wrote my last statement in the morning before heading off to the office, so I was sort of crazy with it. All it boils down to is that George Bush is a horrible person who lacks a heart, and America in whole is starting to turn it’s eyes away from the soldiers that you see in the airport who are alone, look to be in a tough spot, and they’re doing their duty serving us. You have the troops returning injured, getting less and less. But that’s due to taxes having to stay low. Mumbo jumbo bs is all the leaders feed us.

Obama will raise taxes, as would McCain. If you remember George Bush #1 he promised the tax break and nope, no break. Reality bites!

It’s easy to sit in your chair and discredit every thing without the slightest of thought. That is essentially the main plan and action of this cancer we call the Neo-Cons. “It’s all hodgebodge, hopeful naivety.” As opposed to mindless action or more like – inaction. All politicians do is give you hope and promises, McCain doesn’t do it any less, the only difference is. . . McCain is less likely to budge or make any deserved and much NEEDED change than Obama.

It’s that whole ideology of change-fearing “conservatism” and in the end leaving things as they are, leaves room for a world of change. In the end, they conserve nothing but their so called “ideals”, which are as false as their skewed perception of America and the world.

Get out of the way and let us progress.
