Hello, my name is Joe Flood

Entomology senior Joe Flood first went fishing with his dad when he was 5. Now he is the president of the MSU Sportfishing Club.
“It’s a challenge to entice a bite,” Flood said. “I enjoy the fight on the line. It’s Man vs. Fish.”
The Sportfishing Club meets every Wednesday at 7 p.m. in 225 Natural Resources Bldg. The club travels to local lakes including Lake Lansing and Hawk Island County Park. They also compete in tournaments throughout the year including the Big Ten Tournament.
“Any skill level is welcome as long as you have an interest in fishing,” he said.
The MSU Sportfishing Club began in 1997.
Flood fishes three days a week and says the club is also a social network to meet other fishermen.
“Recently, I’ve been going after the big fish,” he said.
