He’ll be 70 years old in a little more than a month, but Gordon Lightfoot is still belting out tunes and playing his guitar.
The acclaimed singer-songwriter of hits such as “If You Could Read My Mind” and “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald” will be performing at 8 p.m. tonight in Wharton Center’s Cobb Great Hall.
“I think he hits a nerve with all age groups. It’s college students, older patrons, younger patrons. There’s something spiritual about his songs,” said Bob Hoffman, public relations manager for Wharton Center.
There were some tickets left in the $28 range as of Thursday, but there’s no guarantee on availability, Hoffman said.
