Every year, football reporters from The State News and The Michigan Daily engage in an epic war of words to rally their respective schools before the MSU vs. U-M football game. Read on for this year’s not-so-lighthearted exchange of jabs.

Wow… way to write an article with almost nothing to do with football, then get totally trashed by the opposing side’s article. Being the ‘little brother’ here, the other guy knew how to spell emulate before you knew how to read. Way to not even be bowl eligible this year too. Ouch, first time in what, like thirty-some years now? That hurts.

Dan F – “I got into Michigan and MSU and went to MSU because it is better?” and you’re calling that BS? Our supply chain, teaching, and packaging degrees (to name a few) are top in the nation.

and the “Big House” sucks. your stadium isn’t any bigger than ours, you just force your people to sit their butt cheeks at a 45 degree angle, therefore more people can fit.

If being the “big brother” means having to listen to childish stuff like this all the time, then I am proud to be the little brother. U of M has been crapping on MSU forever, even trying to keep them out of what is now the Big Ten conference for fear of a little in-state competition. That is where the lyrics to the fight song come from. You guys have always been jerks, and it appears will always be jerks.

	Go Green!

It’s sad knowing that people at U of M still believe they are THAT much better than us. Looking down at a school that has quality people who go into jobs to HELP others vs. a school that just graduates to make a ton of money is all too ironic.

	Here is my retaliation:

Mark Dantonio is a tough, program changing coach, and because he wouldn’t call your player anything “worse” than short is because he is classy. Not an ### hole.

Chad Henne was a douche. After their win last year, he celebrated like they won the Rose Bowl yet, they claim they weren’t surprised.

Football is a favorite, but March Madness is the best. Can you remember the last time U of M made it into the NCAA Tourney?

Your greatest LOSS was Appalachian State. Oh, and now lets add Toledo.

Dantonio has been and will continue to do great things. It is an HONOR to have him listed has a soon to be Big time coach, cause he is bringing it here!

Our academics are some of the TOP in the nation. As mentioned below, teaching, Supply chain, packaging and growing. We accepted a record number of people this year because we give people a chance when you wont.

Oh, and calling us dumb. That’s really a great argument for being a little brother. At least we can work hard during the week and still have fun.

Our one loss doesn’t add up to the 5 big ones you have. The violence was childish. But you are no better.

Just because your girls are not as good looking doesn’t mean that you have to attack ours. And not everyone is blonde thank you.

So your mommy and dadddy pay for your frat so that you can give out free alcohol. We work hard to pay for our school. And we don’t mind giving up $5 to a friend in exchange for a great time.

Our fight song also used to talk about farming. “On the banks of the Red Cedar, There’s a school that’s known to all; Its specialty is farming,And those farmers play football…”

Our pyro-like hobbies are just part of the unity of our town. We can get past our pride and be one school. You can’t because not only do you think you are better than us, but better than everyone at your OWN school.

Your record is the worst in 23 years now. We can cheer on our football team because we see each game as a victory in itself for never losing by more than a touchdown.

300 is a great movie. You are upset because wolverines are ugly and don’t exist in Michigan anymore. Spartans, however, are still the historically the greatest warriors.

You seem so confident about your win on Saturday, yet you bring up all these STUPID arguements that have very little or NOTHING to do with football.

You are scared. You are rude, demeaning and arrogant.

Go Green. Go White. Go State.

I guess your current record is something all you whining babies would refer to as “a hoax.” Is that right…remember when you lost to a MAC team not too long ago; isn’t that something that the all mighty U of M is above? You’ve been outplayed and over rated…even the “Big Brother” falls down sometimes! Oh, and please stop using Braylon Edwards as one of your reasons to be better than Michigan State, he graduated…he no longer helps you, with your higher than average GPA’s I would have thought that’s something you would all be able to recognize. So Mr. Feldman I’m just going to say good luck tomorrow, I honestly mean that and maybe you’ll be able to stand on all of your ugly and awful accusations if you win. Either way if Michigan State wins or loses we’ll still have Spartan Pride radiating from STUDENTS and I’m sure you’ll come back with all of your witicisms next year around the same time. Congratulations:) Oh and P.S. I’m a female Spartan…and I’m a brunette!

Comment from Dan Feldman = Lousy Journalist

Is this really what passes for journalism at UofM? That’s sad. Instead of trying to write an inciteful, well-thought out article, he just lists a string of insults, many of which have nothing to do with football. I understand that Dan, like most UofM students are terrified that they’re going to lose, as they should be, but trying to put up a tough front with all his trite little insults, well we all see right through it. So go ahead UofM, sit back and think that you’re special, just because all your uneducated Kmart fans tell you you are, we’re going to be over here, kicking your ass at football.

Also, trying to attack MSU girls’ appearances isn’t going to make your girlfriend any prettier. She’s ugly. Deal with it.

	Go Green!

“You’re the little brother because you probably don’t know what emulate means.”
“You’re the little brother because your girls’ fake tans, sloppy blonde dye-jobs and low standards don’t mean they’re that hot.”
“and I know you have trouble reading”
only indicates you’re a lousy journalist and a pampas prick. I’d be willing to bet your parents had to make a sizable donation to get you into Michigan.
As for your comment about paying for a cup, just because your mommy and daddy pay for all of your beer doesn’t mean that’s the way it works for everyone else.
By the way, your boy Braylon is the same guy that wore a Penn State shirt during a nationally televised interview because he doesn’t support your new coach or your program anymore right?

Ah. I see UM’s magnificent, un-accredited journalism program is still producing fine young eggs like Danny-boy.

Nice to see they’re finally teaching the kids in Ann Arbor that many sentences do, in fact, start with capitalized letters and end with periods.

Dan, if your curriculum even teaches it (which I doubt it does), take my advice and prepare yourself for question marks and exclamation points. Those things will probably make your funny-looking head spin!

Like I wrote above — and I know you have trouble reading — football, not basketball, is America’s favorite college sport. Let me know when you get the 75,000 people who attend your football games to go to a basketball game, let alone the 110,000 that pack the Big House.

	I understand football is king.
But what about the 78,129 that went to Ford Field to support our basketball team?
So yes we have had more then 75,000 people to watch our basketball team.
And on December 3rd this year, we will have even more.

I don’t have a fake tan, a dye job, or low standards, but that’s a little irrelevant, isn’t it? It actually doesn’t have anything to do with tomorrow’s game. Neither does the fact that I chose MSU over U of M when I was accepted by both schools, and I’m glad I didn’t. Choosing U of M would mean having my school represented this year by an idiot with a lopsided face and a complete inability to write a good article.

So, about the game tomorrow. Good luck with winning every game for the rest of the season, since that’s what it’ll take for U of M to make it to the Motor City Bowl.

BUT msu is FAR superior is so many importnat programs…. when it comes to packaging, supply chain management, accounting, teaching….these are all programs that MSU is ranked significantly higher in compared to U of M. in fact, u of m doesn’t even offer packaging or supply chain (they do have a grad program you can sign up for $5200). so….if a u of M grad was lucky enough to get a job at a company that did designer packing, or was trying to maximize efficiencies in the whole “buy, make, move sell” thing, I am pretty sure you’d be working for Packaging Manager or a supply chain manager……that went to MSU. we are the nationally recognized as the best place to get those types of degrees.

After reading this article, I am absolutely 100% glad that I chose MSU over U of M. The Wolverines always claim that this in-state game is not important at all. Yet, every year you insult us over everything: academic, sports and people. Maybe it’s time you admit how important you view this game because you know why you have to insult us before we do. Stop living in your own world and starting surviving in reality, because that is what everyone else does.

Anyone else notice the trivia question on the Michigan scoreboard that asked “Who was the last Mid-American Conference team Michigan Lost to?” Of the four choices, one was “Toledo” and the other was “Michigan has never lost to an MAC school,” and the latter was given as the correct answer. Guess they forgot about the game two weeks ago eh?

are you allowed to make fun of peoples’ looks when you look like you have down syndrome? just curious
it’s not a MISCONCEPTION that people at MSU are better looking, that would be REALITY.i went to some UM parties this weekend and lets just say it wasnt PRETTY
it actually would’ve been nice to see some girls like the ones described in the article but i was not so fortunate

	now about the article
-like mentioned by someone else already, breylon edwards does not like UMs football program anymore and DID wear PSU gear on TV
-we planted the flag at ND because they were arrogant like well…UofM and didnt bother bringing the megaphone trophy to the game cuz they were so confident they were gonna win
-everyone knows that football is MORE popular but basketball is very popular too but thats why UofM people try to downplay its importance cuz they dont belong in division 1 basketball. but we do know youre jealous of our basketball program even if you wont say it which we can honestly say we’re not jealous of your football team.
-i heard that mike hart called javon after the game and said “good game” i wish javon wouldve responded with kiss my @$$ but he classier than I am
i had the grades and ACT score to get into UofM but i never considered applying because people like dan feldman would be associated with me,i would go to oakland or even ferris before i went to the University of affirmative action
and now paul bunyan is ours too-its a great day to be a spartan- class of 2011
