1) Last season, Northwestern quarterback C.J. Bachér, then a junior, threw for a career-high 520 yards and five touchdowns against MSU. With 1,042 passing yards through five games this season, Bachér has barely doubled the yardage he amassed in that single game against MSU.

2) The last time the Spartans and Wildcats met at Northwestern’s Ryan Field was in 2006, when MSU staged the greatest comeback in Division-I college football history. Down 38-3 in the second half, MSU stunned the Wildcats by scoring 38 points in less than 25 minutes.

3) Northwestern has two sets of brothers on its football team. Nate and Quentin Williams, both linebackers, and Aaron and Brett Nagel, a linebacker and superback, respectively, giving the Wildcats two pairs of brothers for the first time since 1997, according to Northwestern Media Services.

4) Northwestern is first in the Big Ten in red-zone efficiency, having scored on 20 of its 22 trips inside the opponent’s 20-yard line, according to Northwestern Media Services. MSU, on the other hand, is first in the Big Ten in red-zone defense.
