I am not pro-weed – I am against government waste. In any case, I have noticed some things about marijuana that I think could make it useful in society. First and foremost, it has a very distinctive smell to the non-stoner. I find this important because legalized marijuana will make it easier to recognize and discriminate against society’s dregs through the use of our sense of smell. Unless of course we want to ban discrimination against people who smell bad. Second of all, it helps the crime rate. When something previously unlawful is declared to be lawful, the crime rate will naturally decline due to a shortage of “criminal” activities. Also, it is said the marijuana leads to other drugs. This is important because, although marijuana is not lethal, the other drugs it allegedly leads to can be. Legalization of marijuana will lead a greater number of addicts to more lethal substances, which will cause them to die out more quickly. Third, marijuana tends to cause the stupid and lazy to remain stupid and lazy. Since marijuana smokers tend to vote Democrat, the GOP could succeed in future elections by passing out free marijuana cigarettes to Democrats on election day. Those that do vote are likely to vote for a Republican by accident. The rest will likely be too busy with their drum circles to care. Because of the radiation and chemo, she couldn’t eat, couldn’t sit still and was in constant pain. She actually asked ME, her teenage granddaughter, whether I could get her some of that marijuana she’d heard could help. At the time, I thought all drugs were only bad (plus my mom caught wind of her request and was pretty furious). Eventually, my mom got Grandma some weed through a friend. After smoking just a little bit, my grandma was able to eat a normal meal, was in considerably less pain, and was finally able to RELAX. You may not think that last bit is that important, but if you’d seen my grandma before that, you’d know that it was no minor side-effect. I know this is a tough call for a lot of people, but for me, the choice is clear. If you’ve had a loved one in a similar situation, I’m sure it’s the same for you.
