While most of the country watched ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” from the comfort of their homes Sunday, about 500 people braved snowy weather to attend a viewing party featuring an episode filmed in Holt. During seven days in late September, community members and businesses joined forces with the extreme makeover team to build a new home for the Nickless family.

I have mixed feelings about this show. It came to Blacksburg a couple years ago while I was here

They paint Ty to be some sort of caring savior/superman type character. While on camera, it looks like he is doing so much of the work. In reality, it’s the army of employees/volunteers who do all the work. Ty just runs around hitting on chicks, drinking at area bars and doing coke like a rockstar.

They do alot of great things, I just wish they would stop focusing on their pretty-boy poster child and focus on the people who really make these dreams come true.
