MSU has applied for $20 million to expand the new Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute, which will be located in West Fee Hall.

The institute will promote various forms of research, from clinical to community-engaged.

The money would come from the National Institutes of Health, and would be applied over five years.

With 22 full-time employees, the institute engages with staff members from the colleges of Human Medicine, Nursing, Veterinary Medicine, Osteopathic Medicine, Social Sciences, Communication Arts and Sciences, Engineering and Natural Sciences.

The university will hear back about the funds early next year.
