A police task force arrested four men in connection with a six-month string of home invasions in mostly student-occupied housing in the East Lansing area, police said Tuesday.
Leondius Kirksey, 21, of Clinton Township and Deon Jackson, 21, of Detroit both have been charged with first-degree home invasion. Henry Francis, 20, of Lansing and Timothy Walton, 20, of Pontiac both were charged with receiving and concealing stolen property, according to a press release issued today by the East Lansing Police Department.
East Lansing Police Lt. Kevin Daley could not be reached for comment.
The home invasions occurred primarily in student-occupied rental housing around East Lansing. The break-ins were found to usually happen between midnight and 7 a.m. with unforced entry through unlocked first- and second-story windows and patio doors.
The task force that investigated the break-ins was made up of the East Lansing Police Department, Meridian Township Police Department, MSU Police Department, Ingham County Sheriff’s Office, Lansing Police Department, Bath Township Police Department and Michigan State Police.
The investigation is on-going, with Christopher Bell, 21, of Muskegon still wanted for questioning.
Anyone with information on recent home invasions should call the East Lansing Police Department at (877) ELPD-TIP.
