For art enthusiasts, the Lansing Art Gallery, 113 S. Washington Square, in Lansing, has two upcoming exhibitions.
Opened Jan. 14 and running until Feb. 25, the gallery will feature the work of two artists, Andrew Rieder and Jeff Cancelosi. Rieder’s main media are oil paint and permanent marker, while Cancelosi’s work is in ink.
Rieder’s art, which explores perception and stereotype, will be shown in the Main Gallery. Cancelosi’s “The Distance Between Us” exhibition of ink drawings will include work that “examines the isolation in American society today” and be presented in the Mezzanine Gallery, according to a press release from the gallery.
The varied messages and artistic media of the two exhibitions provide two differing points of view that are a must-see for art lovers.
