The Northern Tier Trail in East Lansing offers 4.5 miles of pathways winding through the woods.

2. Head to Munn Ice Arena for some open skating, a game of broomball, an open hockey game or freestyle skate.
Open skating costs $4 for MSU students, staff and faculty with an ID, or $5 for the public. Skates are available to rent for $2. Open hockey costs $5 per player and goalies are free. Freestyle admission is $5.

3. Channel your inner 7-year-old and go sledding.
Popular locations include the Hawk Island County Park, 1601 E. Cavanaugh Road, in Lansing, and Harris Nature Center.

Students can purchase MSU hockey tickets or check out the schedule online at msuspartans.com. They also can be purchased at the Spartan Athletic Ticket Office in Jenison Field House. Or check out East Lansing High School’s varsity hockey team.

Favorites include Apples to Apples, Mad Gab, Balderdash, spoons, euchre or “Have You Ever.”
