10 songs to get down to
Tweet
With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, one way to get the attention of that special someone is with a mix of sexy songs to let them know how you feel. Just be sure to avoid the term “superman” and leave Pretty Ricky at home.
“Bump N’ Grind” R. Kelly
R. Kelly doesn’t see nothin’ wrong with a little bit of bump and grind, and neither do I. What better way to seduce your sweetheart than with a little R&B ballad?
“Sugar Water” Cibo Matto
The slow beat and sweet voices of “Sugar Water” are bound to add a little spice to anyone’s evening. Instrumentally the song is very fluid and will fit into most any setting.
“Closer” Nine Inch Nails
While Nine Inch Nails is not generally known for its sex appeal or puppy love driven tunes, this infamous song boasts one of the most direct lines of any song in pop culture as of late. But remember, boys, I wouldn’t go using its most infamous lyric as your go-to pickup anytime soon.
“Sexual Healing” Marvin Gaye
This really needs no explanation.
“So Rich, So Pretty” Mickey Avalon
After a few listens to the singer’s soft voice and lyrics, the song sneaks up on you with some less-than-family-appropriate themes. Still, something about the pace and Avalon’s voice make this song a lovely listen.
“Criminal” Fiona Apple
Apple slithered onto the scene in this slightly wrong feeling song about how bad she is. The video, which featured a very strung-out-looking Fiona, couldn’t help but evoke the feeling that no matter what dirty thing she did, you forgave her if only because it was so hot.
“F—k the Pain Away” Peaches
If you’re looking for some kind of kinky throwdown scene, this may be the song to include on your soundtrack. It’s absolutely obscene and may only be for the couple so comfortable that they are looking for straight raunch or something to giggle at.
“Mysterons” Portishead
Arguably one of the sexiest songs ever made, the entire CD “Dummy,” put out by Portishead, is one to go with to set a sultry mood that is perfect for any romantic encounter.
“Big Poppa” Notorious B.I.G.
If it works for Biggie, it’s fine by me. While it may not be the most romantic of songs, it definitely knows what it is and isn’t beating around the bush for its purpose.
“Let’s Stay Together” Al Green
This little classic is one that never fails to put a smile on its listeners’ faces. One of the more romantically motivated songs featured, Green can’t stop from crooning his way into the hearts and playlists of every couple’s Valentine’s mix. It’s a surefire way to win over even the most indifferent puppies.
