Sexual assault reported on campus

February 11, 2009

A 22-year-old female student reported being sexually assaulted Wednesday morning outside of Wells Hall, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.

The assault happened at about 10:45 a.m. as the student exited Wells Hall. The student told police she was grabbed inappropriately and the suspect made obscene comments as she left the building. The suspect pushed her against a brick wall and began to step toward her. The student kicked and pushed the man before escaping to her car, which was in a nearby parking lot, police said.

The suspect is described as a medium build, white male in his early 20s, about 6-feet tall and 185 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair. He had a goatee and a deep voice, and was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and faded blue jeans.

The student was not injured.
