MSU sophomore shortstop Lindsey Hansen was named the Big Ten Softball Player of the Week after leading the team to two victories this week in the Magic City Classic.

Hansen, who batted .667 in the two games, leads the team with five home runs already on the season. The Spartans (6-6) won their two games against Northern Illinois 10-2, and Samford 13-6.

In the doubleheader, Hansen went 4-for-6 at the plate, scored five runs and had five RBIs. She is batting .317 with three stolen bases in three tries and a .829 slugging percentage on the year.

The Spartans will head to North Carolina next week for the Tar Heel Invitational and games against Princeton, North Carolina, Georgetown, Elon, North Carolina State and UNC-Wilmington.
