Capital Area Transportation Authority, or CATA, has announced that buses will not run on Sunday in observance of Easter.

Additional changes will be made to several routes on Saturday night. Service to Route 1, which runs from downtown Lansing to Meridian Mall, will conclude at the CATA Transportation Center, 420 S. Grand Ave., in Lansing, at 11:45 p.m. The Entertainment Express will stop running at 11:30 p.m., while routes 34, 35, and 36 will conclude services at their normal times.

Route 26, Abbot-Chandler Late Night Service, will not operate on Saturday.

Lot Link services will end at 11:30 p.m. Saturday and resume at 3 p.m. Sunday.

CATA’s Spec-Tran phone lines will take reservations from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday for rides on future days.

CATA Services will all return to normal operation on Monday.

Won’t this compromise the jobs of all those who are required to work on Sunday? I observe the holiday but I don’t approve.
