US-127, I-496 will see lane closures
Tweet
Several road closures will begin within the next week, as summer construction projects commence in the Lansing area.
Single lane closures on I-496 and US-127 will begin on Saturday for maintenance of freeway lights. One lane will be closed between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. in the area.
Also Saturday, crews will begin near Hungerford Street on I-496 and proceed east to northbound US-127 at Saginaw Highway.
On Sunday, crews will work on westbound I-496 in the same location.
Jolly Road at US-127/I-496 will be closed two nights next week during removal of portions of the bridge over Jolly Road.
The road will be closed between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. on May 5-6. The work is part of a large road and bridge project on US-127/I-496, which currently has one lane closed in each direction between I-96 and Trowbridge Road.
Additionally, construction to resurface the Cedar Street ramps on I-96 is set to begin on May 7.
All work will take place between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. and will require a full closure and detour, which will take traffic to the next exit.
The Cedar Street ramp resurfacing is part of a larger project on I-96 between Lansing Road east to College Road.
