E.L. Summer Jazz Festival starts June 19

The city of East Lansing is hosting its 13th annual Summer Solstice Jazz Festival June 19-20.

The festival will be held in Parking Lot 1, located on the corner of Albert Avenue and Abbot Road.

There are nine performers expected to perform, ranging from nationally known acts, such as jazz violinist and bassist Esperanza Spalding, to the local MSU Community Music School Jazz Orchestra. Friday night performances start at 4:30 p.m. and Saturday performances start at 3 p.m.

The festival is free to the public and is hosted by the city of East Lansing, Wharton Center for Performing Arts and the MSU College of Music.
