msu Great Lakes web site ranked no. 2

The Great Lakes Echo Web site, produced by the Knight Center for Environmental Journalism at MSU, was named the No. 2 Web site for Great Lakes restoration by Valerie Denney Communications, a public relations group that advocates social issues.

The site was created by the Knight Center and the Department of Telecommunications, Information Studies and Media. It replaced Michigan’s Echo, a previous Knight Center news service.

Great Lakes Echo was the only student-produced Web site to be honored. Its articles are written by Knight Center interns and other MSU journalism students. Its articles are divided into air, climate, energy, land, waste, water and wildlife issues.

Articles also can be sorted by states mentioned in them.
