The East Lansing Cable Commission will host a panel discussion at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Courtroom 2 of the 54-B District Court, 101 Linden St.

The commission will discuss the role of public access in today’s world. Panelists include Michigan Municipal League Legislative Associate Samantha Jones Harkins, President and CEO of ACD.net Kevin Schoen, MSU associate professor of computer science Richard Enbody and Attorney John Liskey, who specializes in telecommunication and Internet services law.

They will discuss public access and the most effective way to use telecommunication for civil public discourse. The panel will be viewable on East Lansing’s public access channel, Channel 22, and also will be live-streamed from www.Ustream.com.

Members of the public can provide live comments and feedback by e-mail during the discussion at cable@cityofeastlansing.com or through a Twitter feed on Ustream.
