The MSU Museum and Kresge Art Center present Threads of Change: The Transformation of West African Textiles exhibit. The exhibit includes Kente cloth of Ghana, mud cloth of Mali, printed cottons from New Guinea and more. The event is free and is sponsored by the MSU Museum. The display runs through November.

“Michigan Foodways” has returned to MSU as part of a Michigan Eats Exhibit before the exhibit tours the state as part of the Smithsonian. The exhibit displays local food information from areas such as Chelsea and Frankenmuth. The event is free and can be seen at the MSU Museum and Kresge Art Center.
Foreign documents on display in exhibit
Tanzania in Deep Time — A View from the Rift Valley is a series of exhibits at the MSU Museum’s West Gallery. The Rift Valley documents are part of a research project of fossil discoveries. The research team includes members of the MSU Museum and Ohio University. The project was funded by the National Science Foundation and the event is free.
Knights of the Abyss to play at Mac’s
Venture down tonight to Mac’s Bar, 2700 E. Michigan Ave., in Lansing, to see Toledo-based Knights of the Abyss continue their American tour. Doors open at 5 p.m. with Within the Ruins, This or the Apocalypse, And Hell Followed and Once We Were Buried scheduled to perform as well. The show is open to all ages for $10 and promises to be “metallic in nature.”
Union poster sale today, Thursday
