Filmmakers set to shoot Old Town

September 1, 2009

Lansing area filmmakers will be challenged to prove their love for Lansing’s Old Town in a 72-hour film competition starting Sept. 11.

Rules for the 72 Hour Shoot Out will be posted as video skits and clues on the Old Town YouTube channel during the days leading up to the event.

This is to ensure that no participants will get an early start.

The final video will be posted at 5 p.m. on Sept. 11 and will signal the start of the competition. The shootout will end at 5 p.m. on Sept. 14.

Contestants will be prompted to create a film telling why they love Old Town.

The top three videos will be shown at an “I Love Old Town” screening at 6 p.m. Sept. 30 at the Chrome Cat, 226 E. Grand River Ave., in Lansing.

The winner will be awarded prizes — including festival tickets — and their film will be used to promote Old Town.
