Don’t get me wrong, this story is screwed six ways from Sunday. Alexis attacks it for the wrong reasons.

Pedophilia is “As a medical diagnosis, it is defined as a psychological disorder in which an adult experiences a sexual preference for prepubescent children.” 14 is hardly prepubescent. Also, there was no sexual contact shown in this story between the 14 year old and 18 year old.

At least check your facts before you attack like that. You want to argue moral grounds, knock yourself out. Don’t start throwing around words you clearly don’t know anything about

Don’t be so quick to defend Ignorance, Alexis may be jumping to quick conculsions, but you also have to wonder what an 18 year old kid is doing dating a 14 year old, even if they did begin dating younger. MAJOR maturity differences, interests are different, etc, etc.

You also have to remember that couples do more than just talk. If he did anything more than hold hand with the girl, he’s screwed.

He’s not screwed, the only way they can press statutory rape charges is if they had sex. You can’t get in trouble for kissing or other stuff like that.

Could someone please direct me to where the law makes it a crime for an eighteen-year-old to have sex with a fourteen-year-old? My understanding (guided by MCL 750.520(b-e)) is that the only age-based sex restrictions in Michigan concern anyone having sex with someone less than thirteen years of age, or more than thirteen but less than sixteen, when the older person is five or more years older than the younger.

And that’s why he goes to State.

(1) A person is guilty of criminal sexual conduct in the third degree if the person engages in sexual penetration with another person and if any of the following circumstances exist:

(a) That other person is at least 13 years of age and under 16 years of age.

CSC in the 4th Degree prohibits sexual contact between a person who is more than 13 but less than 16 where the other person is 5 or more years older.

Hope that clarifies it for you.

CSC in the 3rd degree makes it illegal for a person to have sex (meaning there has to be penetration) with another person who is between the ages of 13 and 16. It is a felony.

CSC in the 4th degree makes it illegal to have sexual contact (which basically means touching for the purposes of sexual arousal) with a person between 13 and 16 if the other person is 5 or more years older. It is a misdemeanor.

Did he at least yell..“THIS IS SPARTA!!!” before he kicked her?

It sounds like the MSU Security Police that responded need to be investigated themselves for not taking this student into custody & investigating further based on what is being reported here.
