By Brittany Shammas (Last updated: 10/15/09 10:20pm)

Purse stolen at Life Sciences Building

A 54-year-old Brewster, N.Y., woman with no MSU affiliation reported her purse stolen Monday from the Life Sciences Building, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.

The woman was giving a presentation to staff members from 1-5 p.m. and had left her purse, which contained $250, a license and a debit card, on a table near the front of the room. She returned to the table to find the purse missing.

There are no suspects and the incident is under investigation.

Wow, that’s pretty ballsy to steal someone’s purse right off the table while they’re giving a presentation and looking out at the room. Sucks for this woman.

C’MON LADIES!!!! Get a clue. There are lowlifes out there who don’t give a rat’s arse who you are or what you’re doing…they’re gonna take advantage of you if you give them a chance (like leaving things unattended). Good grief….

Mr. Obvious,

Why are you such a chauvinist pig? Is it really only the ladies that need to do as you suggest? You come off as a condescending know-it-all.

@ PIG: Darn right ladies need to do as I suggest. Apparently no one has any common sense any more. Trusting strangers in a large university setting is ridiculous, obnoxious and idiotic at best. It was directed to the ladies because there have been more than enough Police Briefs about females getting purses stolen due to being unattended. Many moons ago, I remember my mother used to clutch her purse like it contained the crown jewels, be it at a grocery store, department store, restaurant, etc. Hell, my sis and I weren’t even allowed to touch my mom’s purse. My mom didn’t trust anyone, neither should people coming to campus. Off the soapbox now.

This says a lot about the MSU staff members.

Please forgive “rear admiral chuck pig”. It’s probably just a p.m.s. thing.

Does anyone else feel really bad that someone traveled 12 hours to give a presentation at MSU, and got their purse stolen? I get the feeling no matter how well it went, she’s not coming back for an encore…
