Professor’s Macbook stolen from office
A 53-year-old professor reported his department-owned Apple Macbook Air stolen between 3 and 4 p.m. Thursday from the Food Safety and Toxicology Building, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.
The professor stated he left his office door open while attending a meeting down the hall. He returned to find the computer, valued at $1,799, missing. There was no sign of forced entry and nothing else was missing from the office, the professor told police.
There are no suspects and the incident is under investigation.

“Left his office door open while….” Apparently highly educated proffesors aren’t immune to lapses in judgement.
Simple answer, everyone, lock your doors if you’re leaving the room, no matter where and how long you are gone.

What the hell does an MSU prof need a Macbook Air paid for by the department to do his job? Why not a regular Mac or Laptop? Does it have to be the most expensive Mac laptop out there?
On the other side MSU has lots of money to spend from its surplus, oh wait, it’s actually a deficit, and we’re cutting financial aid, programs, and I have to watch a B/W video from the 50’s about fluids in my lab.
Right, makes total sense.
I bet he’s getting a new one this week paid for by all of us.

Most likely, and that’s the infuriating part. MSU REAMS its students for lost or damaged equipment. Not to mention that we’re arguing with a school who had, what, $100 garbage bins in their buildings?
