The other day I was in the Main Library, trying to study for my two Spanish midterms — like a good student — when from across the first floor hall I heard music blaring from someone’s iPod earbuds.

It’s a pretty well known fact that the Main Library is basically a huge social gathering where people go and pretend to study. They then proceed to tell everyone how they speant 8 hours in the library studying. Here’s a thought..Why don’t you just stay home and study for two hours in your room. Chances are you will probably get the same amount of studying done.

	Your bus arguement is ridiculous..It’s a bus..walk.

don’t listen to music loud in the library because people are trying to study, and oh yeah, not on the bus either? Since when did CATA buses turn into the place for diligent, quiet study?

Its called the East side of the library. Its the quiet study section. Its quiet. Don’t complain about the non-quiet section of the library being noisy, when 100 feet away there is a quiet section where you can hear a pin drop.

the whole concept of “quiet floors” at the library is ridiculous. it’s a LIBRARY – you have the rest of campus to make noise in. the one quiet space on campus shouldn’t have to compromise by devoting half its building space to group study! i’ve seen motorized scooters, dvd players, guitars and bicycles in the main library. the best solution: tell people to shut up and ask them to turn down their headphones. most people are so embarrassed that you actually approached them that they relocate.
